Murphy River Walk
- March 11, 2011
Spring is right around the corner and the warmer weather is certainly welcome. Appreciate nature as you take a nice leisurely stroll on the Murphy River Walk in Murphy, North Carolina. This project started as a concept in 2002 and thanks to the many volunteers and contributors, it is now a 3 mile walking trail that follows the Hiawasse and Valley Rivers which meet in the town of Murphy. The park’s range is from Konahete Park to the old L & N Depot in town.
As you walk along the trail, take in the world around you and realize how wonderfully beneficial nature can be to your health and well being. Not only can it give you a sense of peace and serenity but also lessen the stress of a busy life. Enjoy the native landscaping and learn about the area with the interpretive markers along the way. It also provides a beautiful place to get some exercise and fresh air. If you haven’t tried it yet, you don’t know what you’re missing!
